Brooke Rothford graduated with a degree in Psychology and received her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at California State University, Fresno and is a Certified Rehabilitation counselor as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor.  She currently is a therapist with Fresno Pacific University’s On-Site Counseling Program, and Roubicek and Thacker Counseling Services.

Working at Spirit of Woman, a residential program for women with substance abuse and addiction, gave her exposure to women with PTSD, trauma from child abuse, rape, domestic violence and detrimental unfavorable environments. Working in the substance addiction field for the last 3 years at Aegis Treatment Centers as Counselor/Supervising Counselor has given her the opportunity to work with a culturally diverse population and to demonstrate her sensitivity to people from many socioeconomic backgrounds. She counseled clients for co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, anger and self-esteem issues. Brooke uses techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Client-Centered Therapy.

Brooke takes a positive attitude towards life to help others find the best in themselves to be able to pursue their hopes and dreams.
